Meeting with Peter Stube, Diocese Standing
Committee Liaison for Holy Cross

Attendance: Ted, Virginia, Carl, Dick, Chuck, Bob, Mary Lou
Hand out: Requirements for Approval of
Indebtedness / Standing Committee of the Diocese of East Carolina
Dick reviewed Holy Cross history / property
purchase / multi-purpose building planned / faith based progress
All commented on commitment and progress updates
Mr. Stube stressed the need to fill the
requirements of the Standing Committee (hand out) next earliest
available presentation would be August, 2009.
Key points of focus:
- Presentation should be basically – one page per
topic, well laid out according to hand out
- Major capital project campaigning needed with target
to show commitment to $750k (more members up to 140 or more
capital commitment from current)
- Keep Operating Budget and Capital separate
- Clarify vision (spread the word of Christ) and
mission (building to facilitate vision)
- Two members should present documents in total at one
time to Mr. Stube so he can present to the other standing
committee members to obtain support and SC approval
- Long range plan for full time clergy needed
- Priority hires: Priest, Musician, Administrative
Assistant, 2nd priest
- Be creative, show examples of creativeness in
ministries, campaigning, and funding efforts – attract youth and
energy for future growth
- Focus was on presentation format along with additional supporting documents
