Want To Become A More Effective Minister?
Education for Ministry (EFM) is a theological education
program of the School of Theology of the University of the South
in Sewanee, Tennessee. The program is four (4) years in length
covering the Old Testament, the New Testament, Church History,
and twentieth century theology.
EFM provides a comprehensive, experiential education in the
foundations and message of our Christian faith.
EFM is for the laity of the Church. Every Christian receives
the call to Christ’s ministry at baptism. EFM provides the
basics of a theological education in order to develop knowledge
and confidence about the ministry we all share.
EFM teaches you how to think theologically, deepens your
faith and your understanding of our Christian heritage, and
provides you with a new confidence to be Christ’s minister.
Andy Atkinson, a mentor for EFM, is seeking persons
interested in beginning the program. Commitment is made on a
year by year basis. Although the group decides when and where to
meet, this group is designed to meet after the work day. The
program runs from the end of August through early May.
