ALL ARE WECOME

Youth Education

Nursery and Youth Education
The parish has a regularly scheduled Sunday School program for the youth of the parish.  It currently consists of four groups: Nursery/Infant childcare, Pre-school/Kindergarten (ages 3-Kindergarten), and grades 1-5.

The Episcopal Children’s Curriculum (ECC)
Ages 3 through 5th Grade use the Episcopal Children’s Curriculum (ECC) this year.  The ECC was developed in cooperation with the Center for the Ministry of Teaching at the Virginia Theological Seminary (VTS).  ECC brings the Bible, liturgy, and traditions of the Episcopal Church to life for children.  It is rooted in scripture and incorporates The Book of Common  Prayer and the Hymnal to teach church traditions and standard responses used during worship.  The curriculum engages students in matters of faith and practice.  The ECC was chosen because it follows the Biblical story while also highlighting Episcopal customs and practices. This ensures our children continue to have a firm foundation in the Bible stories but also in those things that mark us as Episcopalians. There are sections on baptism, the service components (creeds, prayers, etc.), sacraments, and much more.

Nursery
Nursery is provided each Sunday for children under the ages of 3 years starting at 9:00 a.m.  The children can play in an enjoyable and safe environment while you attend the service and are brought into the service during the exchange of Peace.
