About us
Who are the people of Holy Cross?
Our membership during the past year rose to 125. Almost 70% have attended Holy Cross for the last 4-6 years, and most people live within a 15-minute drive to church. A large majority of Holy Cross parishioners regularly attend every Sunday service, and the membership is heavily involved in its activities with more than 90% of the people on one or more church committees.
What are Holy Cross’s strengths?
-We help each other in times of trouble.
-Our morale is high, and we are excited about the future.
-We are an equal opportunity organization.
-Visitors can easily distinguish how we differ from other congregations in the area.
- Members get a lot of support and are encouraged to discover their gifts.
-Decisions are made openly.
How do we describe our congregation, and how should we be moving in the future?
We are more influenced by contemporary ideas than tradition and want to move further in that direction.
We are involved with the community around the church but desire to significantly strengthen that effort.
We consider ourselves balanced in service to ourselves and others and believe we should maintain that balance.
We feel like one large family and want to remain that way.
We leave social issues to individual actions but feel we should be moving slightly to taking more of a congregational stand.
What are our current highest priorities?
§Provide Christian education for children and youth.
§Provide a caring ministry for the sick, shut-ins, those in crisis and bereaved.
§Engage in acts of charity and service for persons in need.
§Provide worship that deepens members' experience of God and the Christian tradition.
